Housing

Residence Halls General Information: Approximately 7,000 students are housed in 20 residence halls on the University of Georgia campus. Seven residential communities are designed for comfortable living, optimal convenience, and a positive contribution to the educational experience of the resident.

Located within each residential area are attractive lounges, computer labs, study and meeting areas, TV rooms, laundry facilities, and mail facilities. Rooms are furnished with a bed, dresser, closet space, desk and chair, as well as a high speed Internet connection for each resident. All residence hall rooms are also equipped with basic cable television and local telephone service. The apartment-style East Campus Village units, which house two to four residents in private bedrooms, also feature a full-size refrigerator, microwave, a dining area in each suite, and bathrooms in each unit.

Living on campus affords students an opportunity to participate in social, educational, and recreational programs and activities designed to enhance their personal, scholastic, and social development.

Housing Contract and Registration: All residence hall registrations are completed online. Students are urged to be familiar with the terms and conditions of the contract prior to signing. Although binding for the full length of the contract, provisions are made for mid-year terminations required by academic course programs such as student teaching, internships, and study abroad.

To register for housing accommodations, applicants must submit an online registration and a non-refundable $35 application fee. Only students admitted to the University of Georgia are eligible to register for housing in the traditional residence halls and the East Campus Village.

Family and Graduate Housing Apartments: The Family and Graduate Housing community houses approximately 1,300 residents in the University Village, Rogers Road, and Brandon Oaks areas. The complex offers one(1)- and two(2)-bedroom unfurnished apartments housing 578 undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world. These on-campus apartments are designed to provide convenient and comfortable living at minimal cost.

Applications may be obtained from the Family and Graduate Housing Office website. To qualify for residency, students must be married or in a domestic partnership, be single parents with one or more dependents, be students with legal dependent(s), or be single graduate students.

For more detailed information, contact the Family and Graduate Housing office, or visit their website. Students do not have to be admitted to the University of Georgia to apply for Family and Graduate Housing. Demand for Family and Graduate Housing exceeds supply; graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply for Family and Graduate Housing as early as possible.
