University of Georgia & Singularity University 2013 Global Impact Competition
The University of Georgia Office of the Provost, Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate School are sponsoring a "Global Impact Competition," in partnership with Singularity University (SU), for one exceptional UGA graduate student to participate in Singularity University’s 2013 Graduate Studies Program (GSP13).
The competition seeks to address humanity’s grand challenges. Interested UGA graduate students are encouraged to develop innovative proposals that leverage technologies in order to address key regional challenges in the southeastern United States. The winning nominee will received an award to attend SU’s GSP13 this summer.
SU is not a traditional university, but rather an “ideas incubator” that exposes select students with imagination, leadership potential and a passion for addressing the planet’s great challenges, to some of world’s best and brightest entrepreneurs, scientists, industry pioneers and academic leaders, as well as the leading, innovative technologies. Small groups of students drawn from around the world work in teams during a 10-week period to address major challenges and design solutions that will positively impact a billion people within 10 years. The selected students have the opportunity to engage in this remarkable activity that has the potential to provide a life-changing experience.
