The Ed.S. (Educational Specialist) degree in early childhood education is a 30 credit hour post-Master’s degree program that leads to eligibility for T6 certification in the state of Georgia.
The Ed.S. is offered to individuals who wish to focus their careers primarily on teaching and curriculum leadership at the pre-collegiate level. Entrance requirements are: (a) a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.75 GPA; (b) a Master’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 3.30 GPA; (c) a GRE score of 900 or higher (with a minimum score of 450 on the verbal and quantitative subtests), or a minimum score of 408 on the MAT; and (d) two years of teaching experience with young children. Application deadlines for U.S. applicants are: March 1 to begin in Fall or Summer Semesters; October 1 to begin in Spring Semester. International students should plan to apply two months prior to the deadline.
