Offered almost entirely online, the EdS program helps students learn to use cutting-edge computer and multimedia technology and apply it in K-12 education; analyze learning and performance problems, and design and develop effective instruction.

The Ed.S. program in Learning, Design and Technology is offered on the Gwinnett campus with two areas of emphasis, instructional design and development and school library media.

The Instructional Design & Development emphasis area in Learning, Design, and Technology (formerly known as “Instructional Technology”) provides students with knowledge of cutting-edge computer and multimedia technology and its application in diverse educational contexts, such as K-12 education, higher education, and training situations in business and industry. The Specialist degree is specifically oriented towards the K-12 audience.

The School Library Media emphasis area within the Learning, Design, and Technology Program provides individuals with professional level skills in the organization and application of resources to the solution of instructional problems within schools. This program is approved by the

Georgia Professional Standards Commission to provide S6 certification for K-12 Library Media Specialists. The Specialist Degree does not require a masters in the SLM area.
