The UGA Department of Psychology, within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, is a nationally recognized department offering undergraduate and graduate education in psychological science.

Degree Program Summary:
Ph.D. programs are offered in four areas: clinical psychology; cognitive neuroscience; social, developmental, and health psychology; and industrial-organizational psychology. Students are admitted directly into one program and typically earn a master’s degree along the way.
Research and training span a wide range of areas. Clinical Psychology is an APA-accredited scientist-practitioner program. Cognitive Neuroscience focuses on connections between brain function and mental processes. Social, Developmental, and Health Psychology examines topics including relationships, development, resilience, and health behaviors. Industrial-Organizational Psychology focuses on areas such as leadership, human factors, and psychometrics. The department also offers the Industrial-Organizational Psychology Master’s Program (IOMP) for working professionals.
Students have access to specialized research and training facilities, including the Psychology Clinic, Bio-Imaging Center, child and infant research laboratories, and facilities supporting behavioral, neuroscience, and cognitive research.
Graduate students begin in the fall semester. No separate financial aid application is required; eligible students will be contacted if additional information is needed.
