Preparing Diverse Populations for Graduate Admissions is a free program held during the Fall and Spring semesters.

This program is designed to help facilitate the successful completion of a graduate school application. Through interactive presentations and panels, prospective students will be provided with practical and timely information to help navigate this journey. These sessions will allow participants to:

  • Explore the advantages of applying to graduate school
  • Learn insider tips on how to score competitively on the GRE
  • Speak with current students about their graduate school experience
  • Learn essential strategies to secure graduate school funding

The next Preparing Diverse Populations for Graduate Admissions program will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Special Collections Library, Room 285. — Register here

 

Eligibility Criteria

This event is open to students that will be applying to graduate school within one to two years.

Applicants affiliated with one of the following programs are highly encouraged to attend: UGA FUSE Partnership Program*, Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, The Gates Millennium Scholars Program, The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program, and the National GEM Consortium.

*The UGA FUSE Partnership Program provides an avenue for students from participating institutions to transition into graduate studies at the University of Georgia. Participating partner institutions include Albany State University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Fort Valley State University, Morehouse College, North Carolina A&T State University, and Spelman College.
