- The University of Georgia (UGA) is home to the Beta Gamma chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (or Tri-Alpha) – a national honor society recognizing the academic achievements of first-generation students (defined here as coming from a family where neither parent nor any legal guardian earned a bachelor’s degree). To qualify, you must be a current degree candidate at UGA. Graduate students must have completed at least one term of study, and nine (9) credit hours, with a cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 in all coursework.
