Building Community Through Engagement
There are many campus resources to assist you with building community among graduate students in your program through service projects, civic engagement, and donation drives to help a campus-related organization or local non-profit.
- The Office of Engagement, Leadership, and Service provides information for graduate programs wanting to “Create a Day of Service” as well as information on “Developing Your Service Mindedness”.
- The Well-being UGA website contains a list of places across campus assisting students with basic needs. Programs can create a volunteer event to staff the UGA Food Pantry or host a donation drive by collecting food, clothes, and other supplies to assist their peers.
- The Living Lab Project, in the Office of Sustainability, allows faculty and staff to create a sustainability project for their students.
- Engage Georgia, housed in the Office of Service-Learning, is a platform listing volunteer opportunities and local non-profits in the Athens community.
