The Graduate School is pleased to announce the arrival of Karen Young (karen.young@uga.edu) who will serve as the Graduate School’s Grants Coordinator. Karen brings more than 19 years of experience working with all types of grants. She has served as a reviewer for three federal grant-funded programs for the past five years, has written grant proposals, and managed the pre-and post-award activities of various grant-funded programs.
Karen will provide guidance and assist in all areas of the training grant proposal preparation and submission process including identification of award mechanisms, development of proposal ideas, budget development, institutional and sponsor guidelines, institutional resources and statistics, and student/ trainee data. She will also be able to assist in the administration of the post-award requirements including assisting with adherence to proposed budget or facilitating edits if needed, assisting with progress reports, no cost extension applications, and effort compliance.
We are very excited to have Karen on our team and look forward to working with faculty to bring more training grants to the University of Georgia!
